This toy was perfect for my 2 year old nephew. He's so hands-on and very busy; can't sit still for two seconds! But apparently he played with it for more than a half hour. It's easy to use and seems to be indestructible, which is perfect for a 2 year old boy and his 5 year old sister.

Great toy! Bought this toy for my nephew for christmas and he is 18 months old. For a first remote car it is perfect.

We bought this for our 2 1/2 yr old boy for Christmas. Overall we've been very happy with this. Initially I was surprised by how small it is. But since we use it only indoors, it's size is convenient, and easy for little hands to pick up and carry around. It doesn't drive very fast, which again, makes it easier for our son to control it and learn how to use the remote. The remote is very simple. All in all, I have no complaints.

Very durable rc car, my 14 mos old can toss it around and it's still going. He hasn't found a way to rip off any small pieces and put them in his mouth, and he's even starting to get the hang of controlling it. Easy to hold controller, both rc car and controller take common batteries. However, they don't last to long, about two weeks of heavy use (30 mins a day). The rc car can't go much further than 15 feet from the controller, so you do have to follow it. It drives smooth on carpet and tile. The truck does CONSTANTLY make noise (the monster truck makes a throaty vrooom vrooom noise) and if I had an emergency vehicle (police/fire/ambulance) the siren would get pretty old pretty quick. It doesn't go too fast, so running it into furniture shouldn't dent it, and running into people, kids, and pets shouldn't do much other than annoy. And for the price, great deal.

I purchased this for an almost 4-year-old. He loves the remote-control aspect, and ease of use. He's completely disappointed with how incredibly slow it is, although I told him that monster trucks are not race cars, and he seemed to buy that. I agree with other reviews that it runs poorly on carpet: if it's s-l-o-w on hardwood, it's even slower on carpet! It won't go up the slightest incline, either.
The battery compartment screw on the vehicle is down a really long, narrow hole, so it took me awhile to find a screwdriver that was long and skinny enough to reach the screw.
