Ever questioned what is occurring within your RC car or lorry every time you try and make it go forward, turn and stop? These kinds of objects might be tiny but there are plenty of actions going down at the time you try and make it move. What about what the things that are concerned when you would like to make your vehicle go faster? What does it take really? If you would like for your RC car to go quicker in a race or in an afternoon practice, the best and terribly economical answer to that might be to use shims.
What are shims anyway? A shim is a thin metal or a wedge which may also be made from wood. It is placed between your RC parts to help the RC vehicle maintain its level in case it is going over coarse roads, big stones and such like. An RC vehicle with shims decreases sloppiness although it runs. The area where you can put a shim is between the rear center and spindle pin as there is a conspicuous opening between the 2 materials. You've got to first disassemble the parts beginning from the rear heart and then the spindle pin. Take note that the shim you'll be putting should match the same dimension of the ball bearing to make sure that it'll work correctly. What the shim does is it minimizes the opening between the spindle pin and the bearing. This should do the job in making your RC automobile run quicker. There's one downside to shimming though . If there's too much shim, it is easy for the tires of your automobile to bind. Right that it will not slop any longer but binding then is going to be your next problem.
So take care that you do not use too much shim on your bearings.
